MY OPINION

Impressive. Again. I can't imagine how hard or easily it all comes to the author, but reading it is pure pleasure. All emotion, all real, heartfelt and vibrant.

The shocking, seemingly impossible cliffhanger at the end of book 1 is the place where this second part takes off. And it doesn't skim over its implications and diffuse its raw power. No, the author dives into all the consequences and explores them to the bleeding core.

A woman torn between two men she loves with all her heart. That's a crossroads full of booby traps,, and the beautiful writing brings all the nuances and longing to life.

A tug-of-war with her emotions and her libido creates all these scenes of love, seduction, infinite doubts and crumpling guilt. To me, it was impossible to choose. Both men are depicted with so much detail and real traits that they feel made of flesh and blood instead of ink and dreams. Sometimes I felt as if one was favoured over the other, but then it was the other way around. I was as torn as Danni over this fateful choice.

However, dark secrets start to sprout and the romance becomes suspenseful and gritty. Not only is it remarkably emotional and keenly sensual, but it takes a turn that elevates what's at stake to unexpected heights. Loved all of it, and the cliffhanger is so, so good it hurts :-D
